Commissioned to research, design, project manage and
build a Mogul palace, and create a 30 acre garden on the
island of Mustique in the West Indies. This project took eight
years and was completed in 1999.
During this time I travelled throughout Europe and
the Far East, commissioning various craftsmen and artists to
prefabricate architectural components for the Mogul project.
This involved carving timber, sandstone and marble,
including inlay work in semi-precious stones. Prefabricating
in reconstituted stone and modelling/casting in fibrous
plaster, carpet weaving, sourcing commissioning artistans
and in tandem project managing the building crew in Mustique. |
